This course is more than a collection of recorded lectures. It will combine authentic Islamic scholarship with evidence-based instructional design to create an engaging learning experience that nurtures understanding, reflection, sisterhood, and spiritual growth.

Why This Course Exists

During my Master's research on Muslim women's experiences studying the Qur'an, I discovered something beautiful.

• Women were not simply looking for information.
• They wanted a deeper relationship with Allah.
• They wanted confidence in understanding His words.
• They wanted to teach their children.
• They wanted to belong to a community of women striving for Jannah.
• That discovery became the foundation for this course.

Meet Your Teacher

My name is Hodan Hussein. You can connect with me on instagram. I love Islam, Quran, Hadith and seeking beneficial knowledge alhamdulilaah. 

Ever since I first heard these words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ,

"Convey from me, even if it is one verse..."

... they have shaped the direction of my life. I knew that if Allah blessed me with the opportunity, I wanted to dedicate my life to learning, living, and teaching His Book.

Over the years, Allah has prepared me for that mission in ways I never could have imagined.

I have always taken every opportunity I could to seek Islamic knowledge through lectures from a very young age. I have taught in masjid in the USA and Canada.

I studied at the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America (IIASA), which was located in Fairfax, Virginia. It operated as a satellite campus and educational arm of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I was unable to complete the program due to family priorities a the time.

I have spent years studying the Qur'an and was honored to receive an ijaazah in the recitation of the Qur'an according to the narration of Hafs ʿan ʿAasim. I continue to study Tafsir under a graduate of Al-Azhar University, striving to understand and teach the Qur'an according to the Qur'an, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding of the early generations of Islam.

By Allah's grace, I have also recorded the English translation of the Qur'an and six volumes of Sahih al-Bukhari, making authentic Islamic knowledge more accessible to English-speaking audiences.

Most recently, I completed a Master of Education specializing in Instructional Design. My master's thesis, From Masjid to Mobile: Muslim Women's Journeys in Qur'an Learning Online, explored how Muslim women experienced the transition from face-to-face Qur'an education to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
